Everest back in 1953 the trail has got many visitors. Some come to test their perseverance while some come to get repose from everyday walk of their life.

Why EBC Trek route is Popular?

The Everest Base Camp Trekking route is not merely a trail to walk on. It is the route to create the tales of unlimited intrepidity, natural beauty and Himalayan wilderness. From the start to the finish the journey keeps every trekker on their toes with its sheer grandeurs.

Trekking starts with the flight to Lukla which in itself is an adventure. Landing at the world’s most extreme airport The Tenzing Hillary Airport definitely serves trekkers as appetizers for the things to come on rest of the trail.

Most of the trekking is through alpine forests. However, after Dingboche the tree lines disappear and one can experience the Tundra Vegetation only. The route is most trekked which has made it very organized with lots of teahouses and clear signage.

Khumbu region of Nepal is home of world’s highest situated UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE the Sagarmatha National Park. It is rich in flora and fauna. There are numerous endangered species of animals and birds in the park.

Trail of EBC Trek is mostly along the Dudhkoshi and Imja River as well as few Sherpa hamlets. There are plethora of chortens along the way including world famous Tengboche Monastery.

Some of the villages which are on the trail are very famous throughout the world. Namche Bazaar being the nerve center of Khumbu endows every modern facility even if it is situated at an altitude of 3400 m from sea level. Moreover, the villages like Khumjung, Khunde, Phortse, Pangboche and Dingboche are major settlement area of great Sherpa people.

Trekking Overview

Lukla is the major trail head of the EBC Trek. All the crew members are assembled at the place and embark on the iconic trip to base camp. After breathtaking mountain flight trekkers take a tea break at Lukla and start their walking journey.

Second day of trekking from Phakding to Namche Bazaar is very special. It is the day when trekkers get the first glimpse of Mt. Everest as well as enter the core Sherpa settlement. There are numerous suspension bridges to cross and chilling mountain air to breathe.

Trekkers take the acclimatization break at Namche Bazaar. This is the major town of Khumbu with many excellent teahouses, eateries and shops. During acclimatization hiking trekkers are able to witness more than a dozen mountains. Most noticeable ones are the vistas of Mt. Everest, Amadablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, Tabuche, Cholatse, Thamserku, and Kwangde.

Trekking follows the route of Tengboche Monastery and enters the Upper Khumbu area from Dingboche Village onwards. The changing landscape and vegetation keeps on reminding you about the superiority of the great Khumbu in terms of diversified walking trail.

Trail after Lobuche is on the moraines until trekkers reach the Everest Base Camp. Early morning sunrise experience from the top of Kalapathar is second most popular activity to do during EBC Trek after base camp visit. Trekkers follow the same path back to Lukla.

Altitude and Everest Trekking

We at Everest Buddha Treks believe that satisfaction of clients matters the most. Therefore, we always strive to conclude the trekking successfully. However, Everest Base Camp Trekking requires meticulous planning in order to avoid the threat of altitude sickness.

Lots of trekkers couldn’t finish the trekking because of adverse weather and altitude difference. Our trekking guides are highly experienced and our itinerary is very dynamic. EBC Trekking itinerary knitted by our travel planners allows trekkers to pace their trekking according to their potential. We believe in gradual but slow ascent whereas fast descent. Every week at our office the crew members are taught about perfection in guiding the guests successfully.

Best way to avoid the altitude sickness is the consumption of fluid and proper acclimatization. Please check out our itinerary. We have two acclimatization breaks during the trekking. It helps trekkers to get adjusted to the changing altitude and surrounding.
