Basically the three high passes trek includes the three most adventuerous, thrilling and breathtaking places or the peaks Kongma La (5,535m), Cho La (5420m) and Renjo La (5340m) of Everest region and other highlights such as Gokyo Ri, Kala Patthar and Everest Base Camp. It is purely one of challenging and strenuous trekking holidays in the Himalayas. From Kathmandu we fly to Lukla, and the adventure begins as we land at its tiny airstrip. We head towards Namche bazaar via. Phakding which is the trading post with many markets and it helps to acclimatize in readiness for the heights you will achieve on the trek ahead of you. We reach to the Kangma la pass(5535 m) via. Tengboche, Dingboche and Chukung. It is also the highest pass of the trek. We trek to Lobuche, Gorak shep and to the Everest Base Camp. early morning we climb to Kala Pattar for wonderful views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu and many other high peaks. We trek to Cho-La pass(5420 m) and view impressive Mt. Ama Dablam, Kangtega, Thamserku and Rolwaling Valley. Trek to Gokyo Ri and we can see those beautiful mountains as seen in Kala Pattar. We trek to our last pass i.e. Renjo-La pass with greater view of himalayas. we trek back to Lukla or a flight to Kathmandu for departure. Our Everest Buddha Treks Pvt. Ltd. representative will meet you at Tribhuvan International Airport and you will be transferred to hotel Where you will have your time to freshen up and after that, you will be invited to visit our office for a briefing about your program. You will have meeting with your trekking guide and discuss about the equipments needed for the trekking and we will process for the trekking permits. Overnight at hotel.
An early morning start takes us to the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu for the 35-minute scenic flight to Tenzing and Hillary Airport at Lukla (2,804 m). On arrival at the airport, the guide will brief you and introduce our porters before we begin our trek towards Phakding. We begin our trek by descending towards the Dudh Kosi River where we join the main trail to Namche Bazaar, located just above Chaunrikharka. After passing through the small village of Ghat, it is a short walk to Phakding. Overnight in Phakding.
The trail follows the Dudh Koshi valley north, meandering through the pines, crossing it twice by small suspension bridges before reaching the village of Monjo; the entrance gate of the Sagarmatha National Park. Beginning with a slight climb to Jhorsalle, the trail passes waterfalls and other culturally and naturally occurring items of interest. You will be rewarded with your first glimpse of Mt. Kusum Kangru, Thamserku, Everest and Nuptse. A steep climb up to the beautiful village of Namche bazaar will afford you further spectacular views and a comfortable place to spend the second night of the trek. Overnight at Lodge.
We can tour Namche Bazaar which is the primary town of the Everest or Khumbu region and has government offices, ATMs, internet cafes, shops, restaurants, and a colorful market. Our guide will take you to explore around the nearest villages or hike up to Syangboche Everest View hotel for couple of hours to resist your body with high elevation). Overnight in Namche Bazaar.
The trek continues along the rushing glacial waters of the Dudh Koshi with magnificent views of the mountains. We’ll have trekked to an altitude of 3,860m upon reaching Tengboche. Inside the monastery are incredibly ornate wall hangings, a 20-foot sculpture of Buddha and the musical instruments and robes of the Lamas. The group will be taken to observe a prayer ceremony either in the evening or in the morning dependent on the day’s trek.
From Tengboche, the trail drops to Debuche, crosses another exciting suspension bridge on the Imja Khola, and climbs to Pangboche amongst thousands of mani stones. Our uphill trek continues, taking us to the quaint traditional Sherpa village of Dingboche with its exquisite views of Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam. We take our time, so we avoid getting affected by the altitude.
It is very important to spend an additional night here to aid in the acclimatization process. It can be along a short hike 400 m climb to the Nangkartshang Gompa on the ridge north of Dingboche with good view of Makalu. To the north of Dingboche, there are spectacular views of Lhotse’s huge South Face. We then return back for some good rest. Overnight in Dingboche.
Our trail passes through stone-walled fields and Imja Khola valley before entering glacier moraines amidst towering Himalayas. The trail continues to Bibre which is a yak herdsman place. From here, directly across the valley is the fantastic Ama Dablam and the Amphu Labsa mountains. The trail ahead is intersected by icy streams. We continue our walk for around half an hour and reach Chhukung. After lunch, we begin our trek towards Chhukung Ri. The climb to Chhukung Ri involves some easy
scrambling near the summit. From the top, we can look directly across the valley for a fantastic view of Ama Dablam and Amphu Labcha peaks. We descend back to Chhukung to spend the night.
We begin today’s trek very early in the morning to reach the highest part of the entire trip which is Kongma La pass. We can either take a trail over a hill which is to the northwest of Chhukung over the Nuptse Glacier moraines or we can walk back to Bibre and trek on the trail above the Niyang Khola. The top of the pass is marked by cairns and Buddhist prayer flags. The final descent from the pass is the most difficult part of today’s journey. After climbing the moraine on the far side, the trail turns north through Khumbu Glacier which takes us to Lobuche. Overnight at Lobuche.
Today, our trek follows windy and rocky path with crest of north ridge to Everest along with Mt. Pumori, Mahalangur, Lingtern, Khumbutse, Nuptse, etc. Trail continues along side of Khumbu Glacier to Gorakshep. Check in to Hotel, Lunch and afternoon set out to visit world’s highest base camp Everest Base Camp. Base camp has no view of Mt. Everest but fantastic view of Khumbu Icefall and colorful camp site of Everest expedition during expedition season. Trek back to Gorakshep for overnight.
From our base at Gorak Shep we continue to climb this time hiking up Kalapathar. Leaving as early as possible to take advantage of the morning light, the panoramic views of Everest and the surrounding mountains, as we reach our destination of the Kalapathar viewpoint. Following this we descend to Zongla. Overnight at guest house.
A tough and exciting day, morning cross the second pass of this adventure over Tsho-la pass ( Chola), after an breakfast follow the path leading to a steep up and then cross the glacier on the eastern side. On reaching top of the pass at an altitude of 5,367m, sometimes it will be quite challenging to traverse , from the top offers amazing views of mountains with Cholatse Glacier, from here descend carefully to Thanknak for overnight stop after a hard climb over Cho-la pass, Thanknak at 4,750m a small isolated place with few Lodges.
After a great time crossing Cho-la pass, an easy walk follows the main Gokyo trail, at the foot of the Ngozumba glacier. Slowly and gradually journey leads to Gokyo Lake, climbing a rocky path into valley passing the first lake and the second lake, reaching the third lake called Dudh Pokhari where Gokyo located at 4,790 meters views.
This day early in the morning we have steep climb up to the top of Gokyo Ri (5483m / 19083ft) ample rewards to one attempts this trip. There are stunning views of the supper Gokyo valley, the massive Ngozumpa Glacier and an incredible panoramic view of the whole Khumbu Himalayas, such as giants as Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu (8481m), Cho-Oyu (8153m) and Gychung Kang (7922m) can be seen. Those who explore the glacier and Gokyo peak are rewarded.
Last pass of the adventure, starting early morning towards Renjo-la, walk follows at the end of Gokyo Lake, with marvelous views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse and Taboche, and then over Renjo La pass at 5,465 m / 17,929 ft, one of the most difficult section of this adventure, on reaching the top with breathtaking panorama of Mt. Cho-Oyu and other high surrounding peaks. After a nice break walk follows to a frozen ponds beneath Renjo La pass, and then descend reaching a small settlement at
Lungdeng which is near to Nangpa-la pass towards Tibet. Walk continues to reach Marlung village for overnight stop above Bhote Koshi River up streams.
The descent from Marulung to Thame follows a traditional route used for centuries by the Tibetan traders. We cross the Bhote Koshi River and descend to Taranga. The trail continues to descend and we cross two bridges before reaching Thame. Overlooking Thame is its famous Gompa situated on a hill to the west. From here, we descend gradually on a trail that passes through a few small villages before reaching Namche Bazaar which is probably the biggest town in the Everest region. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.
After Breakfast, retrace the main trail down to Dhudh koshi waving hands to Namche and Khumbu Himalayas to national park exit check point Joralle.Trail follows down steam of Dudh Koshi river retracing to Phakding. Trail leads to Lukla scaling different Sherpa villages crossing a suspension bridge above Thado Kosh. Last section of the day, about 45 minutes ascend to accomplish entire trek. Reconfirm flight Ticket and see off to local porters.
The flights to Kathmandu are usually scheduled for morning for safety purposes. After reaching the capital city, we have the rest of the day off to past the time as we please. We could take a rest in our hotel room or shop for souvenirs for our loved ones. In the evening, there will be a farewell dinner to celebrate the successful completion of your journey to the mountains. Overnight in Kathmandu.
We tour Durbar Square, Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath stupa and Bouddhanath stupa which are all world heritage sites. The Durbar Square sheds light on the life of the royals in ancient times. Pashupatinath temple is one of the most important places of pilgrimage for all Hindus. Swayambhunath is also known as the Monkey Temple and Boudhanath Stupa is one of the largest stupas in the world. Overnight in Kathmandu.
After breakfast, Relaxing/shopping with own activities. Everest Buddha Treks P. Ltd. representative will drop you to Tribhuwan International Airport for onward journey or if you have time to stay in Nepal, we will arrange any other trip such as pilgrimage tour, safari tour , white water rafting, adventures etc.
