Overview:

“Jomsom Muktinath Trekking – A true amalgamation of nature and spirits”

Jomsom Muktinath Trekking is full of diverse activities. The journey has splendid scenery of lofty mountains. Trekkers can relish natural hot water springs to breezy valleys and sacred temples.

Before the expansion of road network the trail was purely a walking detour. However, the same destination can be reached via road or flight. Even if there is enough accessibility options the itinerary of Everest Buddha Treks endow the authentic walking experience.

The addition of the Ghorepani Poon hill on the itinerary make the journey rich and reasonable. Trekkers start their walking journey following the itinerary of Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek. Check out the same trekking package in the Annapurna region trekking section of this website. You can omit this portion and simply choose to do the trekking from the Tatopani of Myagdi district. However, travel experts suggest to add the Poon Hill as well on the itinerary.

After the joyous visit of Poon hill trekkers trek downhill to Tatopani. The dip into natural hot water springs on the bank of Kaligandaki River is very refreshing. Overnight stay at villages like Ghasa and Marpha provide unique experience.

Marpha is the clustered village of Thakali people with many monasteries and apple farm. The local delicacies and drinks made from organic apples are not to miss during the trekking.

Kagbeni and Muktinath Temple

Kagbeni is the village located at the foothill of Muktinath Temple hill and on the bank of holy Kaligandaki River. The banks of Kaligandaki River is famous for shaligrams (holy fossils). The fossils are believed to be the artifacts of Lord Vishnu himself. Therefore, it has huge significance among Hindus.

Muktinath Temple is at a beautiful place. Even more alluring is the fact that it is holy temple where there are 108 taps. According to Hindu mythology if you take bath at these taps all your sins get washed away and you will get the true salvation.
