Located at the western region of Tibet the Mansarovar Lake and Mt. Kailash have significant importance among Buddhists, Hindus, Bon and Jain people. Apart from religious perspectives the tour is equally captivating for the nature and landscape lovers. Mansarovar Lake is the fresh water lake located at an altitude of 4590 m from sea level. It is believed that Sesh Naag the avatar of Lord Visnu resides on this holy lake.

Famous and biggest rivers like Brahmaputra, Karnali, Sutlej and Indus origins from this holy lake or from its surrounding. Therefore, geographically also the place is very important. Mt. Itinerary:

Day 1

Arrive in Kathmandu airport and transfer your Hotel

From Tribhuvan International Airport you will be transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon you will invite to visit our office for briefing about the each day program. Overnight at hotel.


Day 2

Sightseeing of Kathmandu valley UNESCO world heritage sites & trek Preparation

We tour Durbar Square, Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath stupa and Bouddhanath stupa which are all world heritage sites. The Durbar Square sheds light on the life of the royals in ancient times. Pashupatinath temple is one of the most important places of pilgrimage for all Hindus. Swayambhunath is also known as the Monkey Temple and Boudhanath Stupa is one of the largest stupas in the world. At noon, we are introduced to our trek guide and porters and discuss our trip at office.


Day 3

Fly to Lhasa, 1 hour 30 minutes on flight

Today we fly over the Himalayas, its takes 1:00 hour flight to reach Lhasa. During our 1:00 hour flight, you can enjoy the incredible view of Himalaya region, including Mt. Everest “world’s highest peak on the planet”. In Gonggar Airport, a representative from Sunny Travels and Treks will receive you from the airport and transfer you to the Hotel. Full day rest for acclimatization. Evening visit to Barkhor market.


Day 4

An entire day in Lhasa for sightseeing and acclimatization.

The whole day is kept for sightseeing in Lhasa. Visit Norbulinka Palace, the historic summer palace of Dalai Lama, where government issues and religious activities would be addressed. The following afternoon is spent touring the Jokhang Temple, the fundamental pilgrimage destination of Tibetan pilgrims. It is considered to be one of Tibet’s holiest shrines. In the evening, we take a stroll to Barkhor Bazaar, a hive of bazaar activity and an astonishing pilgrim jamboree that gives a delightful introduction to Tibet. We visit one of the major monasteries namely, Sera Monastery. The rest of the day is left for relaxation. Overnight stay at a hotel in Lhasa.


Day 5

Drive from Lhasa to Shigatse, 270 km, 5-6 hours drive

In the morning, after breakfast we shall start to drive to Shigatse by Deluxe bus. Shigatse is the second largest city in Tibet and on the way; we cross Khamba La (4794m) Pass. From this pass, we can see an incredible view of the holy Yamdrol Lake. We then continue our drive towards Shigatse city while enjoying the beautiful landscape of Tibet via Gyantse. Evening we will visit the Panchen Rinpoche seat-Tashilumpo Monastery which was built in 1447. Overnight stay in Shigatse.


Day 6

Drive from Shigatse to Saga, 447 km

Today our journey is quite long. We shall take a drive to Saga while enjoying the view of mountains and landscape. On the way, we will see the holy Brahmaputra River. Overnight stay in Saga.


Day 7

Drive to Manasarovar Lake, 390 km

This day is going to be remembered for the whole life since you are going to have the first Darshan of Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar too. Have breakfast early morning and then start your drive towards Manasarovar Lake while passing amidst the Mayum - la pass (17000ft). Arrive at Manasarovar and from there you will have to change your transport and use the facility of the Chinese buses. After that, you will be doing the approx. 90 kms Manasarovar Parikrama by bus and then stay overnight at your dormitory styled guesthouse in Manasarovar.


Day 8

Mansarovar to Derapuk via. Yam Dwar

We have now reached the ending phase our holy journey. We get up and have our breakfast before moving onward to our ending point of the circumambulation around Mt. Kailash today. As we move ahead we shall witness grandiose sights and reach the ending point of entire journey near Darchen where our remaining team members along with the vehicles shall be waiting for us. After a trek of about 3 hours we get united with our team again and from here onward we shall take a drive to Hilsa via the same exact route which we passed through previously. The drive to Hilsa shall take about 4 hours. Upon reaching there you get escorted to your respective hotel rooms and take some rest for the remaining time period. Stay overnight at Hilsa.


Day 9

Trek to Zuthulphuk, 22kms, 8-10 hrs trek

Today, wake up early in order to see the Golden Kailash. This moment is considered to be the most beautiful one as this peak changes its colour when the sun rises and truly this view is worthy of being captured. After that, start your trek towards Zuthulphuk. Here you have to first climb up the steep surface up to the highest Dolma La Pass and then descend towards Gauri Kund and lastly walking on a flat base till Zuthulphuk. On reaching there, stay overnight at your accommodation in Zuthulphuk.


Day 10

Trek to Darchen (8 km), drive to Saga (340 Kms), 8 Hrs drive

Early in the morning we shall start our trek to Zhongdo. Today our trekking is quite easy and flat, after 2 hours, we shall reach Zhongdo then the Eco bus will pick us up for a drive to Hor. From here onward we change our regular bus and drive continuously to Saga. Evening visit to town.


Day 11

Drive to Shigatse (Xigatse)

Have some breakfast and then it’s the time for you to say goodbye to Saga. Drive towards Shigatse and on arriving there, stay overnight in the pre-booked hotel at Shigatse.


Day 12

Drive to Lhasa

Today morning, once done with the luxurious breakfast take a scenic drive towards Lhasa and then overnight stay in your pre-booked accommodation there.


Day 13

FLY OUT TO KATHMANDU

Morning after breakfast, you will drive to Gonggar airport for your flight back to Kathmandu. The flight takes about one hour and 15 minutes to land in Kathmandu.


Day 14

Departure day

Our trekking in Nepal ends today. Everest Buddha Treks P. Ltd. representative will drop you at the Tribhuvan International Airport three hours before the scheduled flight. We give you much fun and memory that you'll never forget about.

I want to go on a trek. What is the best time and place for it?

Everything you want to do is time and cost specific. Besides, your experience in trekking will also matter. There is wide range of options in Nepal if you want to explore. If you arrive in proper season, that is, between September to November (Autumn Season) and March to May (Spring Season), you might just experience something that you will be able to cherish for the lifetime. The shortest of trek can be Ghorepani Poon Hill trek, Langtang Helambu Trek or the Annapurna Circuit.
