Itinerary:

Day 1

Drive Kathmandu - Surkhet. Overnight at Surkhet.

Kathmandu to Surkhet is 605 kilometers drive. Today we have to departs at sharp 5:30 AM so that we can reach Surkhet in Time. Surkhet is around 13 hours drive from Kathmandu. We will have breakfast and Lunch on the way. Will reach Surkhet in the evening (depending upon road condition and traffic on the way). Check in at Hotel. Free and relax. Dinner at Hotel.


Day 2

Drive Surkhet - Kalikot. Overnight at Kalikot.

Today we wake up early in the morning have breakfast at Hotel and get ready to drive to Kalikot. Our day journey begins at 6:30 AM in the morning. Surkhet to Kalikot is 150 kilometers drive. It take 7 - 8 hours to reach Kalikot. This is one the scenic drive of your journey where you will be travelling through sal forest with beautiful views. Lunch will be on the way. You will reach Kalikot in the evening. Check in at Hotel. Free and relax. Dinner at Hotel.


Day 3

Drive Kalikot - Rara. Overnight at Rara.

Wake up early in the morning. Have breakfast and get ready for our destination "Rara Lake". We continue our day drive via Sinja and Nagma. We will have our on the way. Nagma to Rara is and off-road drive. You will be travelling at the edge of Karnali river via villages and forest. It is around 4 hours drive. Upon reaching Talcha airport further you will drive around 20 - 25 minutes where we will park our Jeep. From there it is around 30 minutes walk to reach lake. As we will be staying in Guest House on the bank of the Rara Lake so we need to walk further 2 hours. Upon reaching Rara Lake we check in at Hotel. Free and relax. We will have dinner at Hotel.


Day 4

Rara Lake Excursion. Overnight at Rara.

Wake up early in the morning. This is your free day at Rara Lake. You can walk around, enjoy boating, have pictures and any other available optional tour like hike around etc yourself. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner will be served at the Hotel. Free and relax.


Day 5

Rara Lake Excursion. Overnight at Rara.

Wake up in the morning have breakfast and begin our returning journey. We will walk couple of hours to catch our jeep where we parked. We will follow the same route while returning back as well. We will have our lunch on the way and following the same path will arrive kalikot in the evening. Check in at Hotel. Dinner at Hotel. Free and relax.


Day 6

Rara Lake Excursion. Overnight at Rara.

How to obtain visa to travel to Nepal?

You can obtain “VISA” to Nepal through embassy or other diplomatic mission to your country. You can also obtain visa at entry points to Nepal or at the airport in the immigration for merely $40. I want to go on a trek. What is the best time and place for it?

Everything you want to do is time and cost specific. Besides, your experience in trekking will also matter. There is wide range of options in Nepal if you want to explore. If you arrive in proper season, that is, between September to November (Autumn Season) and March to May (Spring Season), you might just experience something that you will be able to cherish for the lifetime. The shortest of trek can be Ghorepani Poon Hill trek, Langtang Helambu Trek or the Annapurna Circuit. The Everest trek and the full Annapurna sanctuary Trek can be ideal if you have a little more time. Finally, if you are looking for something that’s longer and more challenging, you’re looking at Kanchanjunga or Makalu area Trek.

Should I trek with an agency or should I trek alone?
